Just a quick reminder about our Pack Meeting on Monday October 14th at 6:30 PM in the library.
Weโll be reviewing recent activities and we have a fun Halloween-themed Scout activity.
Scouts at HSS can wear Class A uniforms to school on pack meeting days!
If you are interested in fostering your scoutโs Catholic identity and faith, the Religious Emblems program is a great way to establish regular conversation on matters of faith and service. Upon completion of a parent-directed workbook, your scout will receive a religious emblem to pin to their uniform. They will receive this emblem at a Sunday, March 30th at 4:00 PM Catholic Scouting Prayer Service and Recognition Ceremony at the beautiful Cathedral Basilica of St. Joseph in downtown San Jose.
Let Jeannie know if you would like to form study groups before or after 9:30am Sunday Holy Spirit masses to help kids complete the workbooks with their peers.
Itโs time to get out the paint and glue and put on your creative caps for our annual Raingutter Regatta! You should have received your boat kit at the pack meeting last week, please reach out to your Den leader if you still need one.
Siblings are welcome! We kindly request a $10 donation to cover the cost of the kit and awards for non Scounts.
Boat Building: Before the races begin, put on your creative cap and assemble your very own mini sailboat. This hands-on experience encourages problem-solving and craftsmanship.
Race Day Excitement: Watch as your handcrafted sailboat takes to the water in friendly competition! Blow on the sails and navigate your vessel along the rain gutter racetrack. Itโs a test of precision and strategy.
Refreshments: Enjoy a Pizza lunch as you mingle with other Scouts and families. Itโs a great time to share stories and build connections.
What to Bring: Please bring your boat, a sense of adventure, and a willingness to have a blast!
Friendly Competition: Compete against fellow Cub Scouts, families, and friends. Cheering, encouragement, and sportsmanship are all part of the fun.
Awards & Prizes: Celebrate the winners and recognize the effort and creativity that went into boat design. Prizes will be awarded to the top sailors and there will also be a design award for best design.
Rules: Please See More for boat and race rules.
Donโt miss this opportunity for your Cub Scout to learn about teamwork, craftsmanship, and the joy of friendly competition. The Cub Scout Raingutter Regatta is a family-friendly event that combines fun and learning in a unique and exciting way.
Whether youโre a seasoned sailor or a first-time boat builder, this event promises memorable moments and a sense of accomplishment.
Canโt wait to see you all out there!

Come join us for our annual Halloween campout where participants get to make their own spooky area, trick-or-treat down the haunted nature trail, carve pumpkins, and participate in traditional scout activities with a spooky twist!
Evening treats, Breakfast, & Lunch included.
Please eat dinner before you arrive on Friday or bring a sack dinner with you.
No camping gear will be provided. Please plan on using a hand cart to carry your tent and supplies to the upper campsites. If you will need assistance please let us know.
If you plan to attend, please add your family info here for pack planning.
Since this is an official BSA event, please make sure to have your health forms filled out and remember to bring them with you as they are quite strict with these. There is also an optional BB Device permission form to complete and bring should your Scout participate. Please note Cub Scout Lions are not eligible to participate in shooting activities, however, they will be able to enjoy the archery range. I recommend you keep copies of these forms for future events so you do not have to complete them again.
Renewal will be a little different this year. Previously the Pack would collect fees and renew as unit. Going forward weโve been asked to encourage Scouts to renew directly with Scouting.org. Since your expiration date depends on when you first signed up, please be on the look out for an email when itโs time to renew.
Welcome back Scouts! We will be having our first pack meeting of the school year this Monday September 9th at 6:30 PM in the library.
We will be distributing the Raingutter Regatta kits and will work on the first advancement of the year: the Bobcat Adventure.

I canโt believe the school year is right around the corner, I hope youโve all had a wonderful summer!
We thought it would be great to jump right into scouting and join the annual Labor Day Family Camp Weekend at Camp Cheesebrough.
Weโll need to register by August 25. Please register/pay directly via the website. Please also add your family to this list so we can coordinate as a Pack.
Chesebrough is situated in a majestic redwood forest and surrounded by a rich history born of the logging industry that will transport you and your family while still being a quick drive away. During the weekend you will experience a full camp program with program areas open for your families to enjoy including:
On top of this, the program will include a campfire, guided hikes, and ample time for recreation and relaxation!
This campout is an amazing opportunity to start our scouting year off with a bang and reconnect with families new and old! Please feel free to reach out should you have any questions.
Hope to see you all there!
